Linnaeus University, located in the southeast of Sweden (in the region of Småland), is a modern, internationally oriented public university with campuses in two cities — Växjö and Kalmar.

Established in 2010 through the merger of two former institutions, LNU carries forward a tradition of higher education under a unified structure.

With a large and diverse student population (tens of thousands enrolled, including a significant number of international students) and a broad academic offering, LNU provides over 150 degree programmes and many single‑subject courses across faculties such as Arts & Humanities; Health & Life Sciences; Social Sciences; Technology; Business & Economics; and Teacher Education.

The university emphasises internationalisation and global cooperation: it has hundreds of partner universities worldwide, participates in international exchange networks, and offers multiple degree- and course‑level programmes taught in English.

LNU also places strong emphasis on research, innovation and sustainability. Through its interdisciplinary “knowledge environments,” the university tackles global and societal challenges — from environmental sustainability and forest industry innovation to welfare, digitalisation, and health.

Beyond academics, the student experience is marked by a vibrant campus life, modern facilities, proximity between living and learning spaces (especially on the Växjö campus), and easy accessibility via public transport or bicycle — facilitating an immersive and community-oriented environment for students from around the world.

In short: Linnaeus University offers a combination of academic diversity, international exposure, research‑oriented environment, and student‑centered campus life — making it a strong option for students seeking high-quality education with a global outlook.
