Wayland Baptist University, Phoenix campus

Wayland Baptist University (WBU) Phoenix is an external campus of the private, Texas-based Wayland Baptist University. Established in 1991 at Luke Air Force Base, it has since expanded to serve working adults and military personnel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and Tucson. 

For the 2025–2026 academic year, the university has announced a university-wide tuition freeze, halting increases across all undergraduate, master's, and doctoral categories to maintain affordability. 

Campus Locations

The Phoenix campus operates through several physical sites and online platforms: 

• Main Office (The Fordham): 1430 E Missouri Ave, Ste B165, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
• Luke Air Force Base Site: 7383 N. Litchfield Rd., Building 1150, Ste 3149, Luke AFB, AZ 85309.
• Tucson Teaching Site: An extension serving the Tucson area. 

Academic Programs

WBU Phoenix utilizes a flexible five-session, 8-week calendar per year, designed for busy professionals. Degrees are offered at the Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. 

• Popular Undergraduate Majors: Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Elementary Education, and Christian Studies.
• Graduate Programs: Master of Business Administration (MBA), M.A. in Management, M.A. in Criminal Justice, Master of Education (M.Ed.), and a Doctor of Management.
• Flexible Credit: The university allows students to earn up to 12 college credit hours for professional work experience. 

Tuition and Financial Aid (2025–2026) 

The university is recognized as one of the most competitively priced private colleges in Arizona. 

• Tuition Rates: While specific per-credit rates vary by program, external campus undergraduate tuition has recently been approximately $444 per credit hour, with graduate rates around $476–$529.
• Financial Aid: Approximately 81–82% of students receive some form of financial aid. WBU accepts Federal Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, and Military Tuition Assistance.
• Payment Plans: Interest-free payment plans are available for a small fee per session. 

Admissions and Services

• Policy: WBU maintains a test-blind admissions policy, meaning SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission.
• Military Support: As a military-friendly school, it provides tailored resources for veterans and active-duty members, including maximum transfer of military experience credits.
• Operating Hours: The main Phoenix office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and is closed on Fridays and weekends.
