University of Kent International College

University of Kent International College (UKIC) is an embedded on-campus college designed for international students to start with their studies at University of Kent. The International College is in a dedicated building on the Canterbury campus, in the heart of student life and close to the on site student accommodation village. 


​The University of Kent International College (UKIC) is a collaborative initiative between the University of Kent and the Oxford International Education Group (OIEG).Officially launched on April 19, 2024, UKIC is situated within the Cornwallis building on the University’s Canterbury campus, offering international students a supportive pathway to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Kent. 


Pathway Programs

UKIC provides three main academic pathways:

  • International Foundation Programme (IFP): A one-year course equivalent to A-levels, designed to bridge the gap between students' current qualifications and UK undergraduate study. It includes intensive English language training and subject-specific modules .
  • International Year Zero (IYZ): An integrated first year of a four-year undergraduate degree, combining English language development with core subject modules. This pathway is ideal for students seeking a seamless transition into degree-level study .
  • International Incorporated Master’s (IIM): A preparatory program lasting one or two terms, tailored for students who do not meet the direct entry requirements for a Master's degree. It focuses on enhancing academic English skills and subject-specific knowledge, facilitating progression to postgraduate study at Kent.  


International Community

UKIC is designed to support international students from diverse backgrounds. The college emphasizes personalized learning, smaller class sizes, and a strong focus on English language development. Students benefit from a global community, with peers from over 100 nationalities, enhancing cultural exchange and networking opportunities.


Campus Life & Facilities

Students at UKIC become full members of the University of Kent community from day one. They have access to all university facilities, including libraries, laboratories, sports complexes, and over 250 student clubs and societies. Accommodation is provided in the on-campus student village, fostering a vibrant and supportive environment
