Scholarships at Central Michigan University

Central Michigan University (CMU) offers a variety of scholarships to support incoming freshmen based on academic performance and other achievements. 

Maroon and Gold Merit Scholarships

These merit-based awards are automatically considered for all incoming freshmen who apply to CMU by December 1. No additional application is required. Scholarship amounts vary based on GPA and standardized test scores (ACT/SAT)

Students can submit updated transcripts to potentially increase their scholarship amount before their first semester begins【335†source】.

Renewal Requirements

- Years 1 and 2

 - Enroll full-time (12 credit hours) for fall and spring semesters.

 - Earn at least 30 new credits each year.

 - Reside on campus during the first two years.

- **Years 3 and 4:

 - Maintain a minimum CMU GPA of 3.0.

 - Continue full-time enrollment and earning 30 new credits【335†source】【334†source】.

Competitive Scholarships

CMU also offers competitive scholarships based on various factors, including leadership, community engagement, and diversity.
