Scholarships

AUT offers region-specific scholarships for high-achieving new students. Note that doctoral programs are generally excluded from these specific awards. 


  • South Asia & Southeast Asia Scholarships:
  • Undergraduate: NZD $5,000 contribution to first-year fees.
  • Excellence Category (UG): NZD $10,000 for top-tier applicants (B+ average or higher).
  • Postgraduate: NZD $7,000 contribution to first-year fees.
  • Faculty-Specific Awards:
  • Business, Economics and Law: Offers "Dean’s Merit" scholarships of up to $10,000 ($7k in yr 1, $3k in yr 2).
  • Design & Creative Technologies: Faculty-specific awards for students from selected regions, including parts of Africa.
  • Pathway Scholarships: For students completing the AUT-NCUK foundation programme, two awards of $10,000 are available by invitation.
