Wayland Baptist University (WBU) – Lubbock is an extension campus of the private, faith-based institution headquartered in Plainview, Texas. For the 2025–2026 academic year, the university has notably implemented a tuition freeze across all campuses and degree levels to maintain affordability. The Lubbock campus specifically serves adult learners and transfer students, offering flexible schedules including evening, weekend, and hybrid formats across five 8-week sessions annually.

The Lubbock campus provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees designed for working professionals. 

  • Undergraduate Majors: Applied Science, Business Administration (with specializations in Health Care, Human Resources, and MIS), Christian Ministry, Cyber Security, Justice Administration, and Nursing.
  • Graduate Programs: Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA), Criminal Justice, Education, History, Humanities, Management, and Public Administration.
  • Doctoral Level: A Doctor of Management program is available. 

2026 Admissions & Costs

  • Tuition: For 2026, undergraduate tuition at extension campuses is approximately $451 per credit hour. For active-duty military students, the rate is reduced to $250 per credit hour.
  • Admissions Requirements:
  • Application Fee: $35 (non-refundable).
  • GPA: The university typically looks for a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for those with over 60 hours, or a sliding scale for those with fewer hours.
  • Testing: Applicants aged 22 and older are generally not required to submit ACT or SAT scores.
  • Upcoming Events: The university will host a Pioneer Preview on February 20, 2026, for prospective high school and transfer students to explore academic programs and financial aid.
